The Land of Enchantment Tour
Needlework Travel is happy to announce that our first U.S. tour will be to beautiful New Mexico. Albuquerque and Santa Fe to be exact. We have put together an itinerary that you will not want to miss.
We start our tour on June 20th when our guests arrive at the airport in Albuquerque (ABQ) Jeremy and Elizabeth will pick you up and take you to Hotel Albuquerque. Check in time is 4:00 pm. We will have dinner at the hotel.
June 21: After breakfast at the hotel we will drive to Twisted Stitches Needlepoint for our first of three days of class. The project is a design by Caela Conn Tyler called The Gourd Ladies being taught by Susan Newman with permission from Caela’s family. We will have lunch at the shop.



After class we will head for the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway, an aerial tramway that carries up to 45 people on a 15 minute ride from the mountain base to the top elevation of 10,378 feet. An 11,000 square mile view can be seen from the top. A Forest Service Visitor Center, hiking trails, scenic decks and the ski area are available at the top, along with the new Ten 3 restaurant where we will have dinner.
June 22: After breakfast we will make our way back to Twisted Stitches Needlepoint for the second day of class. Again, lunch will be at the shop. Dinner will be at a restaurant near the hotel. There will be time to explore the old town.
June 23: After breakfast we will make our way back to Twisted Stitches Needlepoint for the second day of class. Again, lunch will be at the shop. Dinner will be at a restaurant near the hotel. There will be time to explore the old town.
June 24: For our adventurous guests we will start the day with an optional Sunrise Balloon Ride. Shortly after the sun rises over the Sandia Mountains, you will lift off for a peaceful journey down the Rio Grande Valley lasting approximately one hour. Cost will be approximately $200.
After our balloon adventure we will check out of Hotel Albuquerque and drive to Santa Fe where we will visit the Museum of International Folk Art, one of New Mexico’s most popular museums, the museum has gained national and international recognition as home to the world’s largest collection of folk art. The extraordinary collection of some 150,000 artifacts from more than 150 nations forms the basis for exhibitions. We will have a bite to eat at the museum cafe. In the afternoon we will check into our hotel and guests will have time to wander or relax before we have dinner at a local restaurant.
June 25: We will have breakfast at a local restaurant before we head to the Artist Market. The Santa Fe Artists Market, Inc., is a nonprofit organization that provides a venue for local juried artists to sell their fine art and crafts in one of Santa Fe’s most popular locations, the Railyard Arts District. Lunch will be in the city and after lunch we will take a walking tour of Santa Fe with a local historian. Dinner will be at a local restaurant.
June 26: We will grab a quick to-go breakfast before heading to Bandolier Village, primarily known as the ancestral Pueblo village of Tyuonyi, located in Frijoles Canyon within Bandelier National Monument in northern New Mexico. It is about a one-hour drive from Santa Fe. We have to leave the hotel by 7:30.
June 27: After Breakfast we will check out of our hotel and have a more sedate pace as we visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum followed by a tour of her home. We will grab a bite to eat before returning to Albuquerque. We will have our last dinner at a local restaurant to celebrate our tour.
June 28: Guests return home.
We will be adding a few small details to the tour over the next few weeks to make the trip as eclectic and interesting as possible.
There will also be time to stitch, shop, relax, and enjoy some leisure time throughout the tour.
Price: $6,200 per person
The Tour includes everything apart from your airfare and alcohol.

A deposit of $3,100 USD is due on sign-up and then you will be invoiced for the remaining $3,100 payment.
The final payment will be due March 2nd, 2027.
